CHANA, SONGKHLA, THAILAND — Chariyatham Suksa Foundation School, a Royal Award-winning private Islamic institution in Chana District, Songkhla, Thailand, recently collaborated with a delegation of Indonesian university students to host a milestone international hybrid seminar. Titled “Learning in the Digital Era: Smart, Creative, and Responsible Students,” the event drew participation from educators and students across five nations: Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Hungary.

The seminar represents a significant step forward in integrating religious consciousness with modern technology, with the goal of fostering a new generation of “Responsible Digital Students” for society.

Bridging Faith and Technology through “Digital Akhlaq”
The core of the forum centered on the “Digital Akhlaq” model—a framework designed to instill Islamic ethics into digital practices. Key speakers from Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines outlined four essential pillars for students in the digital age:

  • Sincerity: Seeking knowledge with the pure intention of serving God and humanity.
  • Integrity: Upholding academic honesty by rejecting plagiarism and the misuse of AI or any form of dishonesty, driven by the awareness that the Almighty observes all actions.
  • Self-Control: Managing time wisely and maintaining focus on goals despite the distractions of the digital world.
  • Etiquette: Communicating with respect for others and actively participating in the prevention of misinformation and fake news.

Interactive Learning and Global Collaboration
The event featured a dynamic cross-border Q&A session, connecting on-site participants in Songkhla with international audiences online. Discussions focused on strategies for preserving cultural and religious identity within the digital landscape. Furthermore, practical workshops allowed students to apply “Digital Akhlaq” principles to their presentations, proving that faith and technological progress can coexist sustainably.

Institutional Vision
A representative from the school highlighted the mission of the seminar:

“Our goal is not merely to produce tech-savvy youth, but to cultivate digital citizens who possess ‘Akhlaq’—those with moral integrity and honesty who use technology as a tool for creating goodness.”
